Wantage NHPT Visits Blewbury Community Speed Watch!

This week we joined the brilliant Blewbury Community Speed Watch team for one of their sessions. 🚗 
Their commitment to keeping local roads safer is always great to see, and it was encouraging to watch so many drivers sticking to the limit 👍.

We know some people wonder why we support things like Speed Watch when there are other demands on policing. 
As the Neighbourhood Team, our role is to be part of the community, understand what matters to residents, and deal with the issues they tell us are affecting them. We’re not CID — we’re the bobby on the beat, here to focus on the day‑to‑day concerns that impact people where they live.

Community Speed Watch exists to give local people a way to play an active role in improving safety on their own roads. It doesn’t replace police enforcement — it works alongside it. 
Police enforcement continues to take place, and Speed Watch is another tool the community can use to help make their area safer.
And with speeding being one of the biggest concerns raised in our recent survey,  supporting Community Speed Watch is an important part of responding to that.
